Bolmen = Toalettborste & turistmål & dricksvattentäkt
IN ENGLISH
“Forget about Ikea and discover the originals” – that is what Sweden’s marketing company Visit Sweden says in its commercial. We agree, Bolmen is MUCH more than a toilet brush!
Bolmen – more than an IKEA toilet brush
The campaign from Visit Sweden is about wanting to show the originals, i.e. the places that have given names to some long-world-famous IKEA products, and through that recognition create curiosity for Sweden as a destination.
Susanne Andersson, CEO of Visit Sweden, explains:
– We want to show the originals behind some of the perhaps funny-sounding product names that have become more famous than the places from which the names were borrowed. And we want to do with humor, warmth and with a twinkle in the eye. (Quote translated fr Swedish by Sydvatten)
At Research Station Bolmen and Sydvatten we know that Bolmen is so much more than a toilet brush. Bolmen is Skåne’s most important drinking water source and the south part of Bolmen is also a water protection area and an extremely valuable lake for recreation, fishing, swimming, tourism, outdoor life, animals and nature.
In order to protect the water quality, everyone in the water protection area must avoid things that could lead to Bolmen being polluted.
The campaign from Visit Sweden highlights a total of 21 places in Sweden and is expected to reach over 20 million people through paid marketing and many more through media and press. Countries in focus are Germany, Great Britain, USA, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark and Sweden.
